“The Design Award is the most prestigious in Norway, and we are very honoured to be selected among a large group of very strong candidates. We see the award as a recognition of many years of design, development and testing”, says founder and inventor of RollerSafe, Atle Stubberud.
The award-winning brake technology was launched in the market in 2015, through the roller ski series RS Skate and RS Classic. RollerSafe has been appointed as official supplier to the Norwegian Ski Federation.
“We have during the last years received massive response and world-wide requests for our brake technology, confirming the true and urgent need for a safe and easy way to control speed when rollerskiing”. “We hope our concept will enable more people to use roller skis and to go new and steeper tracks without fear of injuries”.
RollerSafe has reinvented the rollerski, creating a concept of high quality, with seamless design and great emphasis on user value and functionality. “Our concept is for all users, from the experienced, untrained to young athletes. The functionality has to be intuitive, easy-to-use and tailored to user requirements”, Atle Stubberud concludes. The brake technology is also available for sitskis. Further applications will be announced in near future.
Together with the skis come remote controls, travel case for easy storage and the unique RS Safety App, allowing each user to specify brake power for most comfortable speed reduction.
